Virtual Poker Tournament - Held on July 25th, 2020

Debra of America is an advocacy network and organization that promote awareness of Epidermolysis Bullosa or EB. It helps with information gathering and dissemination to people afflicted with EB and also fosters political advocacy to bring awareness of the disease.

I first became aware of debra from some of the doctors I talked with during my visit to Camp Wonder and wanted to help its causes. To assist Debra I decided to have a poker tournament by pursuing my dad and his friends to join in. I chose to hold the tournament on Zoom because the entire world was going through a Covid 19 driven lock-down. To my surprise, 8 people joined in a large Zoom call with an online poker app. When I explained what EB was and the the work that debra was doing, they were quite happy to wager large sums of money that evening. In total, I raised over $1040 that evening. The funds were donated to debra.
