5K Run for EB held on June 6, 2021

Debra has an annual run for EB campaign.  This is a popular event where many family and friends of EB patients run or walk 5 kilometers all with a goal of raising funds and awareness of the disease.  Except this time, running together was not so simple as we were still under strict social distancing recommendations in the Los Angeles county.   Working with debra, which encouraged various forms of running, walking and biking so long as we were able to encourage everyone involved to run the entire 5 kilometer, we devised a route from Venice Beach, CA to Pacific Palisades, CA along the beach bike path. We marked the Tymescal Canyon in Pacific Palisades as the halfway point to return all the way to “muscle beach” in Venice Beach as the finish Line.

All founding members of LHMBD, as well as my parents and Jadon Pak’s parents participated. Each team member wore the runners bib outfitted with name, logo and the 5K Run for EB from debra sign.  The run was also posted online via Instagram by Morgan Kim.
